The Ringgold boys basketball packed their bags and traveled all the way to Harrisburg on Friday for a PIAA opening round game against District 3 champion Bishop McDevitt.
The teams traded baskets and the Rams kept it close in the opening minutes before Bishop McDevitt found its stride. The Crusaders used a suffocating full court man-to-man defense which gave Ringgold fits all night.
After the opening quarter the Rams trailed by 11, but that deficit would increase to 23 points at the half.
Unfortunately, the second half saw the Crusaders put the game away after putting up another 29 points in the third quarter to put the mercy rule into effect.
Final score: Bishop McDevitt 82, Ringgold 37.
Luke Wyvratt led the Rams with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Ringgold finishes the year at 14-10 overall.
