The Ringgold middle school soccer team faced a tall task on Tuesday afternoon, taking on Bethel Park on a rainy day in Finleyville. The Lady Hawks brought a 3-year unbeaten streak into the contest. The Lady Rams proved to be up to the challenge.
Katelyn Ferrence, as she typically does, opened the scoring at the 14-minute mark, scoring off a PK to give Ringgold a 1-0 lead. Abbey Whaley would add a second goal from 30-yards out and extend the Lady Ram advantage to two heading into the half.
Ferrence added a second tally midway through the second half to give Ringgold some insurance, and Carly Lutz would score with less than a minute remaining to seal the victory.
Final score: Bethel Park 0, Ringgold 4.
Ringgold improves to 6-0 on the season and will be back in action again on Thursday against Canon McMillan.
