The Ringgold middle school boys soccer team traveled to Baldwin on Friday for a hard fought contest against the Highlanders.
With both teams having limited scoring opportunities in the first half, the score remained tied at 0 after 30 minutes.
In the second half, Baldwin broke the scoreless tie to jump out to a 1-0 lead. It was short lived as only moments later, Owen Haywood’s shot deflected off a Baldwin player and into the net, knotting the game at 1-1.
Gianni Cantini made a great save to keep the score tied as the Ram’s offense had many opportunities but unable to score.
Final score: Ringgold 1, Baldwin 1.
The Rams will be back in action on Monday, hosting McGuffey for a “night game” at 6:00pm. The game will be played on the new turf at Joe Montana Stadium.
