Last Monday, Ringgold MS GBB hosted the Lady Colonials for a pair of contests.
Albert Gallatin utilized a full court press to force the issue. The press created numerous turnovers that were more often than not converted into easy buckets for the visitors. Ringgold’s offense continued to struggle even when breaking the press. A number of mistakes in the half court resulted in additional turnovers, and when the Lady Rams were able to get off shots, they rarely found the bottom of the net. It was a tough day for Ringgold in the first game.
Rhianna Fordham led the way with three points in the contest.
The Lady Rams were able to flip the script in the second game, winning 25-7. A balanced offensive attack and stellar defense kept Ringgold in front throughout the matchup. Five players scored in the opening frame, providing Ringgold with a 10-2 lead. The Lady Rams would not need any more points as they held the Lady Colonials to five points over the last three quarters. Ringgold had seven different players contribute to the offensive output. They were led by Fordham’s double-digit performance, totaling ten points.
