The Ringgold hockey team earned their first victory of the season with a 3-1 win over Connellsville on Tuesday night.
Steve Macheska would give the Rams an early lead, scoring 3 minutes into the game on an assist from Evin Fries. Connellsville would tie things up midway through the period and the score would hold at 1-1 at intermission.
In the second period, the Rams’ Trent Hawk gave Ringgold the lead once again with an early goal and Macheska would net his second of the game later in the period. Ringgold would lead 3-1 after two periods of play.
From there, the Ringgold defense would lock in and keep Connellsville off the board, holding on for the win!
Jerry Mease finished with 19 saves and earned the victory in net.
The Rams (1-3) will be back in action again on Halloween, hosting Norwin at Rostraver Ice Garden. Puck drop is 7:35pm.
