The Rams’ JV baseball team was at McKeesport on Tuesday afternoon for a match-up against the Tigers.
After trading runs early in the game, the teams were knotted at five after five innings.
With the Rams batting in the top of the sixth, Joe Shumaker singled with runners on first and second to score Jacob Savko and give Ringgold a 6-5 lead.
The Rams offense, however, was just getting started. Ringgold would explode to score 6 more runs in the inning and put the game out of reach. Jacob Walsh, Chad Behrendt and Deondre Dotson would all have RBI’s in the frame.
RInggold would score once more in the seventh inning to close the game at 13-5.
Deondre Dotson started the game for the Rams. He went four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out five. Shumaker would enter in relief and earned the win. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on two hits and striking out two.
Ringgold racked up 15 hits on the day. Dax Kelly went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Rams in hits.
The boys are back at home on Thursday, April 25th, against West Mifflin.
