The Ringgold hockey team returned to action after extending layoff, hosting Carrick for their first game in two weeks.
The Rams opened up the first period with three straight goals before Carrick would get one back. Scoring for Ringgold were Zach Kalinowski, Nathan Boulanger, and Nicholas Nagy.
Ahead 3-1 entering the second, Carrick would battle back to make things interesting. Nicholas Nagy would finish off a hat trick with his second and third goals in the period, but Carrick’s Ian Norkevicus scored a hat trick of his own to cut the deficit to 5-4 after two.
Boulanger and Nagy would tack on two insurance goals in the first seven minutes of the third period to give the Rams a little breathing room. Carrick would add one more tally late for a 7-5 final.
Jerry Mease earned the win in net, finishing with 27 saves.
The boys return to action on Tuesday, February at Trinity.
