Ringgold faced off against Morgantown in PIHL Division 2 action on Monday night at Rostraver Ice Garden. The Rams were looking to extend their winning streak to four games.
It took just one minute for the Rams to get on the scoreboard when Bradly Bujdos beat the Morgantown goaltender to make it 1-0. Evan Eberlein made it 2-0 midway through the opening period and a goal by Noah Schroeder with under two minutes remaining in the period allowed the Rams to hold a 3-0 advantage after one.
Ringgold would continue to build on its lead, scoring two quick goals in the second period to build a 5-0 lead. Justin Day lit the lamp followed by Schroeder’s second goal of the game.
Morgantown would finally get on the board, scoring on a breakaway to make it 5-1.
The Rams would answer only minutes later on Budjos’ second of the night. Both teams would score as the period came to a close, with Morgantown cutting the deficit to 6-2 before Justin Day notched his second of the night to push the advantage back to 5.
In the third, Morgantown would score the opening goal of the period before the Rams would close out the victory scoring two more goals. Schroeder scored his third of the night to complete the hat trick followed by a final tally from Evan Eberlein.
Evan Cook had a solid performance in net, saving 19 of 22 shots.
With the win, Ringgold improves to 8-2 overall and returns to action on Monday against Knoch.
