The Ringgold hockey team traveled to the RMS Island Sports Complex on Monday for a PIHL D2 semifinal game against Neshannock. The Rams split two games against the Lancers earlier this season.

The Rams took an early lead and never looked back in a 5-0 shutout performance!

Both squads seemed evenly matched in the first period before Ringgold used a power play goal to break into the scoring column. Evan Eberlein got the goal on assists from Nathan Todd and Ryan Marek.

The 1-0 score held for much of the second until the Rams once again found the back of the net, scoring two goals less than a minute apart to break the game open. This time it was Bradley Budjos getting the tally before Eberlein netted his second of the game.

Ringgold put the final nail in the coffin only 41 seconds into the third period when Noah Schroeder ripped a shot high into the net to give the Rams a 4-0 lead. Schroeder would get his second of the game later in the period and give Ringgold another insurance goal.

Evan Cook finished with 19 saves and a shutout performance in the 5-0 win.

Ringgold will advance to play for a championship against Burrell next Monday, March 18th at 6pm at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township.
