It was a heartbreaker tonight for the Lady Rams Varsity Volleyball team. They came out ready to play, riding the momentum from last night’s win at Charleroi. That momentum led to a 25-18 win in the first set. Uniontown came out to a big lead to start set two, going up by 10 points. The Rams fought back with a few big runs, but couldn’t overcome the deficit, losing 25-17. The girls found their rhythm again in set three, taking a 25-18 win, but found themselves back in a deep hole at the start of set four. Uniontown went on to take the final two sets, 25-12 and 15-7, respectively.
Despite the loss, it was a strong night for the offense. Setter Kaiden Bubash had 22 assists, finding senior Alyssa Pagliei for 11 kills, junior Haley Resosky for 10 kills, and freshman Zoey Mundorff for 6 kills. Sophomore Brooke Mihalik had several crucial serving runs, ending the night with 7 service aces. Senior libero Alexis Sage once again led the defense with 21 digs.
The Lady Rams move to 1-3 overall, and 0-3 in section. They travel to Thomas Jefferson High School on Thursday night for their next section match.
