Ringgold hosted Belle Vernon at Joe Montana Stadium on Friday night for their final game of the 2018 season. It was also Senior Recognition Night and the football players, cheerleaders and band/auxiliary members were honored prior to the game.
From the opening kick-off, Belle Vernon flexed their muscles on Ringgold, dominating for much of the night. The Leopards allowed only six total yards of offense in the game and finished with two interceptions along with a fumble recovery on a punt.
With five minutes remaining in the first quarter, Belle Vernon scored their first touchdown on an 8-yard run.The Rams (0-10, 0-7) faced a 20-0 deficit after the first quarter.
Belle Vernon made it 40-0 at the half on three rushing touchdowns in the second quarter.
With a running clock to start the second half, the Leopards received the kickoff and chewed up the entire third quarter with an 13-play, 80-yard drive which ended in another score.
The Leopards found the end zone one more time in the fourth quarter to cap a 55-0 victory.
Ringgold finishes the season at 0-10 overall, but looks forward to building on the experience gained by their young team this season.
