Boys Varsity Track · Boys Track beats Trinity, keeps playoff hopes alive

The Ringgold boys track team won a tight meet on the road against section rival, Trinity on Wednesday afternoon.

Leading the way in earning points were the 3200M Relay (Colten McKown, Bennett Gorman, Donovan Long, and Eric Obringer) and the 1600M Relay (Jake Gorman, Bennett Gorman, Montell Carlock, and Colten McKown).

First place point scorers were: Ethan Gamble (1600M and 3200M), Tay Bronson (100MH, High Jump) and Bennett Gorman (800M). A strong line of second place finishes secured the meet win: Tay Bronson (110MH), Montell Carlock (100M), Lucas Pajak (1600M, 3200M, Jake Gorman (200m, 400M), Donovan Long (800M), Josiah Sloan (Triple Jump), Tyler Farelli (Shot Put, Javelin) and Ryan Leech (Discus).

With the win, the boys stayed alive in a run for a spot in the team WPIAL Team Championship in May. The final section meet is on April 17th against West Mifflin and Elizabeth Forward. Ringgold’s top individuals travel to the TSTCA Championship meet Saturday, April 14th.
