The Rams hosted section-favorite Uniontown on Tuesday night in the first meeting between the teams this season.
The fans at Ringgold High School witnessed a real treat, in a back-and-forth game full of runs in the Section 3-AAAA first-place showdown.
Unfortunately, Uniontown would make the last run and pull away in the final minute to take a 71-62 victory.
The Rams held the lead after both the first and third quarters, but couldn’t seem to pull away and the Red Raiders stayed within striking distance.
Uniontown would take the lead for good with just over 5 minutes to play in the fourth quarter and Ringgold couldn’t mount a comeback down the stretch.
Luke Wyvratt finished with a double-double for Ringgold with 24 points and 14 rebounds while Chris Peccon scored 18 and Demetrius Butler added 11.
Ringgold resumes play on Wednesday, traveling to Thomas Jefferson for a non-section game at 7:45pm.
