The Ringgold boys basketball team picked up their first section win of the season on Tuesday night against the visiting Falcons from Connellsville.
Both teams struggled to find the basket in the early going and Connellsville held a slim 8-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Things started to open up more in the second and two timely 3’s from freshman Ryan Pajak propelled the Rams to a 6-point advantage, 21-15, at the half.
During the third quarter, the Rams outscored the Falcons 23-11, playing perhaps their best eight minutes of the season. Once again he three-ball was huge for Ringgold as Cam Halushka hit one and Nick Peccon hit two at the start of the third quarter to help the Rams break the game open.
Connellsville would outscore Ringgold in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough and the Rams held on for a 59-47 victory.
Ringgold got 20 points from Nick Peccon and 17 from Demetrius Butler, while Cam Halushka also tallied double figures in points with 11.
Ringgold is back on the floor tonight, traveling to West Mifflin for a 7:00pm game.
