The Ringgold boys basketball team traveled to Uniontown for an important section match-up. The Red Raiders are the only other undefeated team in Section 3-4A. section-unbeaten Union-town.
Uniontown opened the game with a 9-0 run and never looked back. After one, the Rams faced their biggest deficit of the year, 17-7.
Luke Wyvratt hit a basket to trim the lead to 17-9 in second quarter, but after that Uniontown continued to extend the lead.The Red Raiders would head into the locker room at the half with a 27-point advantage.
Ringgold continued to fight in the second half, but it would prove to be short-lived. In addition to the scoreboard, the Rams also faced a huge deficit in rebounds. Uniontown won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding the Rams by 20 on the night.
Heading into the fourth quarter, Ringgold trailed 60-28. The teams would trade baskets over the final eight minutes and Uniontown would take the victory.
Chris Peccon scored a team-high 13 points and Demetrius Butler finished with 11 points for the Rams.
Ringgold is back in action again on Wednesday, traveling to McGuffey for a non-section game.
