The Ringgold 7th grade boys basketball team turned in their most complete performance of the 2017 season on Thursday when they faced off against the McGuffey Highlanders.

Jordan Mayer was almost unstoppable, scoring14 points in the opening quarter to give Ringgold a commanding 21-7 lead. The teams would play an even second quarter, but the Rams held a 32-17 lead at the break.

In the second half McGuffey would go on a run, outscoring Ringgold in the third quarter and cutting eventually cutting the lead to 6. The Highlanders couldn’t get any closer though and the Rams held on for the win.

Mayer would finish the game with 20 points and 4 rebounds. Lorenzo Glasser added 11 points, and Jacob Pehowic was dominant on the glass, finishing with 11 rebounds to go along with 4 points.

Final score: Ringgold 44, McGuffey 36.

Ringgold is back in action again on Tuesday, traveling to Canonsburg for a match-up with Canon McMillan.
