The Ringgold 8th grade girls basketball team traveled to Steel Valley in their first of three road games this week.
The Lady Rams came out a little sluggish to start the game and allowed the Ironmen to hit two 3-pointers in the opening minutes. Ringgold would battle back but only held a 7-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Both teams would trade baskets in the second and at the half, the Lady Rams were ahead 11-10. Zoey Mundorff paced Ringgold early with 6 first-half points.
Ringgold finally found momentum in the second half and used an 8-0 run in third quarter to break the game open. In the fourth, the Lady Rams put the finishing touches on a winning performance by scoring another 13 points.
Final score: Ringgold 32, Steel Valley 11.
Zoey Mundorff and Abbey Whaley each finished with a game-high 10 points to lead Ringgold.
The Lady Rams are back in action again on Tuesday traveling to West Mifflin.
