The Ringgold 7th grade boys basketball team opened their 2018 season on Friday when they took on the Trinity Hillers.

The Rams came out sloppy to open the game, struggling to protect the ball and allowing Trinity to get easy buckets in transition. The Hillers opened up a 14-0 lead after six minutes.

Trinity started to pull away in the second quarter, outscoring the Rams 11-6 to take a 25-6 lead at the half.

Trinity was the tougher opponent on the day and took 48-20 victory.

Zach Cheplic led the Rams, scoring 10 points and collecting 9 rebounds. Aidan Angotti added chipped in with 7 points and 2 assists.

Next up for Ringgold is a match-up against Elizabeth Forward on Wednesday.
