Game Recap

The Ringgold football team hosted New Castle on Friday night for a Quad-A crossover match-up against the Red Hurricanes. It was also Senior Recognition and the Ram band, cheerleaders and football players were honoroed prior to the game.

New Castle opening the scoring in the first quarter on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Marcus Hooker to Devin Sams. The Red Hurricanes would take a 6-0 lead after a missed extra point and that score would hold until halftime.

New Castle would increase their lead to 13-0 before Ringgold got on the board. C.J. Franks hauled in a 39-yard touchdown pass from Caleb Eisel to cut the deficit to six.

The Ringgold defense struggled to stop New Castle’s offensive attack and the Red Hurricanes added another touchdown run by Hooker to make it 20-7 at the end of the third quarter.

Brenden Small would add a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late and the Rams couldn’t complete the comeback.

With the loss, Ringgold drops to 3-5 (3-4) overall and will travel to Trinity for their final regular season game on Friday, October 27. Kick off is set for 7:30pm.
