The Ringgold baseball team placed seven student-athletes on the All-Section teams for Section 3-AAAA, announced on Monday by league coaches.
First Team selections included seniors Chase Angotti (pitcher), Bobby Boyer (catcher), Koby Bubash (infield), and junior Travis Drusbasky (outfield).
Chase Angotti led the Rams on the mound this season, starting 7 games and finishing with a 5-1 record. He ended the year with 34 strike outs and an ERA of only 1.3.
Bobby Boyer, in his second season as the full-time starting catcher, was the defensive anchor behind the plate for Ringgold and offensively contributed with a .333 batting average and 10 RBI’s.
Leading the Rams’ offensive attack was Koby Bubash, who finished with team-high statistics in multiple categories including hits (22), home runs (2), batting average (.393), and runs batted in (16).
Finally, Travis Drusbasky was one of Ringgold’s most balanced players, contributing significantly at the plate and in the field. After missing several games to start the year, Drusbasky returned to provide reliable play in left field to go along with several highlight reel catches. His .362 batting average and 21 hits were good enough for second-best on the team in addition to a team-best 20 runs scored.
Senior Josh Peters was selected to the Second Team for his pitching performance, while Nick Kolano (infield) and Sam Daerr (outfield) garnered Honorable Mention honors.
Well done, boys!
