Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Ringgold Cross Country performs well at Red, White & Blue Invitational


The Ringgold Boys Cross Country team placed four runners in the Top 20 overall of the Red, White & Blue Invitational on Saturday, held at the Schenley Park Oval in Pittsburgh. The Rams finished fourth out of 15 teams in the AA section of the meet.

The following boys earned awards for their Top 20 finishes: Lucas Pajak (11th, 17:23), Ben Daerr (12th, 17:30), Ethan Gamble (14th, 17:34), Eric Obringer (20th, 17:51). All four runners ran lifetime best times.

Rounding out the scoring were freshman Lorenzo Zeni (52nd, 19:16), Donovan Long (53rd, 19:23), John Segebart (54th, 19:36), and Shane Burkholder (63rd, 20:03). Nick Whaley was a top finisher in the freshman boys race by placing 24th overall in an impressive time of 19:36.

Running individually on the girls side, sophomore Andrea Kassa finished 24th overall with a season best of 21:47 in the girls AA race. Kassa was a PIAA state qualifier in 2017.
