The Ringgold boys soccer team placed four student-athletes on the Section 3-AAA Finest Fifteen team, announced yesterday by league officials.
Leading Ringgold’s four selections was midfielder Kobe Norfleet. Joining him were junior Eli Schoedel, along with seniors Christian Egan and Jackson O’Connor.
As a junior, Norfleet finished the regular season with 7 goals and 8 assists, despite only playing in 12 games due to injury. This year’s selection marks Norfleet’s second consecutive All-Section honor.
Eli Schoedel appears on the All-Section roster for the first time in his career. Only a junior, Schoedel led the Rams in scoring on the season, finishing with 25 goals. Schoedel now has 51 career goals and sits only five away from the Ringgold record of 56.
Captain Christian Egan started in all 17 contests for Ringgold this season. He had a huge role in facilitating Ringgold’s offensive attack, leading the team in assists and scoring 18 goals on the year.
Finally, senior captain Jackson O’Connor every game but one this season. O’Connor was strong on both sides of the ball and tallied five goals and eight assists during the regular season.
Senior captain Tyler Farrelli received Honorable Mention for his play anchoring the Ringgold defense.
Head Coach Steve Persaud was also named the Section 3-AAA Coach of the Year! Coach Persaud led the team to an 11-4-2 overall record and clinched the section championship, going undefeated at 8-0-2.
