Ringgold High School
Carrick High School
Ringgold traveled to Carrick on Tuesday night for a non-section game.
The first half was back-and-forth, with Carrick leading by 6 points at the break, but it was the second half when the game became exciting.
The Rams were trailing by five with two minutes remaining, but mounted a comeback to trail by only one with less than 30 seconds to go.
With the Rams possessing the ball, senior Anthony Pampena drove to the basket and although his initial shot was blocked, Pampena was able to tip the ball in the net with 7.5 seconds left to give Ringgold a 53-52 lead.
On the final possession, Dakota Browning blocked Carrick’s potential game-winning shot to secure the win for Ringgold.
Browning once again led the Rams with 14 points. Pampena and Ryan Varley both added 13 points.
Ringgold improves to 6-5 (1-1) on the year and will continue section play on Friday when they host the Colonials from Albert Gallatin.
