The Ringgold football team placed a group of student-athletes on the Big 9 All-Conference teams, the league announced.
Although the season ended on a bitter note in which the Ringgold lost in the WPIAL semi-finals for the second time in three years, the Rams came out of award season with the consolation of having eight student-athletes honored.
First team selections included seniors Dalton Holt, as both a defensive back and wide receiver, and quarterback George Martin.
Holt led a young Ringgold defense, becoming the Rams’ primary shutdown defender. He led the team with 4 interceptions, including two in the fourth quarter which sealed a playoff win against Mars. Holt was also a top receiving target, finishing the year with 49 receptions for 710 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Martin, in his second season as the starter, seemed to get better and better as the year went on. He finished as a Top 5 WPIAL passer with over 2,300 yards and 22 touchdowns on the year.
Junior Max Maciejewski was selected to the All-Conference Second Team as both a tight end and linebacker. Maciejewski led the Rams in receiving, finishing with 59 receptions for 962 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Joining Maciejewski on the Second Team were lineman Isaac Petrosky (offensive and defensive line) and Gage Ivory (offensive line). Both Petrosky and Ivory anchored an offensive line that accumulated over 4,000 yards on the season.
Finally, seniors Justin Mayer, Easton Fine and junior Brenden Small garnered Honorable Mention honors.
