Game Recap

The Ringgold girls basketball team hosted Laurel Highlands on Monday night in an important Section 1-5A game. This was the first of two match-ups between the teams this season, and the first since the Rams ended the Fillies season in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs last February.

After a sloppy first half overshadowed by Ringgold turnovers, the Rams trailed by five at halftime. The Lady Rams would respond in the third quarter, outscoring the Fillies, 17-7, to take a five point lead heading into the final quarter.

Laurel Highlands would hit several clutch three pointers in the fourth quarter in an attempt to mount a come back, but Ringgold was able to cling to the lead and seal the victory.

Ashley Briscoe finished with a game-high 22 points and senior Johnna Mocniak added 11.

With the win, Ringgold improves to 5-6 (2-2) on the year and is back in action on Thursday in another section match-up at Uniontown.
