Indoor Track opens season at Slippery Rock

The Ringgold boys and girls indoor track team opened their 2017 campaign on Saturday at the Slippery Rock Invitational in Slippery Rock, PA.

Leading the way for the Rams was senior Brian Vandusen, who set a new indoor school record in the long jump with a leap of 21-6, ranking him 6th in the state. Seth Martin placed high in the 1600m (2nd) and 800m (3rd) events, while Ryan Leech was a shot put finalist, and the 4 x 200m relay team of Brian Vandusen, Noah Trunzo, Matt Cannon, and Colten McKown took 2nd place overall.

Sarah Lucas led the girls team with two first place finishes in the 1600m and 800m runs, Additionally Alexa Vaccaro was a shot put finalist, and the girls 4 x 4 team of Sarah Lucas, Morgan Richards, Anjolina Hrycko, and Kat Ramirez took 2nd place.

The Rams will return to action on Friday, January 13, when they compete at West Virginia University.
