On Thursday, November 10th, student-athletes from all over Western Pennsylvania traveled to the Heinz History Center and Sports Museum for the WPIAL’s 8th Annual Sportsmanship Summit.
The Sportsmanship Summit aims to teach values such as integrity, humility, hard work and sportsmanship in high school athletics. It also stresses the importance of respecting your opponents, officials, coaches and the game itself. This year’s guest speakers included Rob King from Root Sports and Art Rooney II from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Student attendees were identified as leaders both on their respective teams and in school were invited in the hopes that they will bring back and impart these values on their teammates and fellow students.
Ringgold students in attendance (pictured left to right) were: Luke Greaves, Koby Bubash, Frankie Lowstetter, Nya Adams, Taylor Mendicino, and Anysa Kirkland.
